President: Kristina Kennedy-Babcock
Kristina
has appeared on stage all around the Capital District in shows such as CR Productions/Cohoes Music Halls production of Anything
Goes, Spotlight Players Annie Get Your Gun, Schenectady Light Opera Companies production of Gypsy ( Mazzeppa),
OOPS production of Cinderella (Wicked Stepmother), and Steamer 10’s Suessical is right at home on the
stage and also behind the scenes. She has also performed in and choreographed Spotlight Players Annie, and also received
2 TANYS (Theater Association of NYS) Awards for her work on Annie Get Your Gun and Oliver. Kristina choreographed
Confetti Stages's production of Disney's High School Musical and is a judge for the Schaghticoke Fair Talent competition.
She studied acting and dance at the New York State Theater Institute (NYSTI), trained in tap, jazz and lyrical ballet for
over 18 years and is a certified Country Line Dancing Instructor. She has performed in Nashville, TN on the Wildhorse Saloon
Television show, and is currently a dance instructor for The Isabelle School of Dance and the Susan O'Dell Taylor School.
Kristina is also a volunteer with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Genet PTO, Hudson Valley Girl Scouts, The Town
of East Greenbush and other local charities. Kristina is mom to 12 year-old Jessica and 7 year-old Belle! She wishes to thank
her parents for their love, support and help with the girls! Jessie & Belle, always follow your dreams! To my husband,
my angel John above, I miss you so much, always watch over us…
Nathan Meredith (Musical
Director) is excited to make his CAPS debut with 13! He is the resident sound designer for C-R Productions, where
he music directed The Wizard of Oz and Footloose (Cohoes Music Hall). A graduate of Syracuse University,
he has had the pleasure of music directing for SU Drama, First Year Players, and the a cappella group Orange Appeal.
This past summer he was a production electrician and sound engineer at Surflight Theatre, NJ - where he also music directed
the intern cabaret - and worked as a sound shop technician for the national tours of The 101 Dalmatians Musical and
Cats.
Michael Sykes ( Stage Manager and Production Assistant ) is thrilled to be assisting
and Stage managing 13 the musical! Since the age of three Michael has been performing with many theatre companies:
CAPS, SLOC, Mac-Haydn, CAT, VCT, and more. Credits include: Ryan Evans in High School Musical 2 ( CAPS ), Fredrick
in Pirates of Penzance ( VCT ), Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Jack Scott in High School Musical
( CAPS ), Captain Smollett in Treasure Island ( VCT ), etc. Besides being on stage, Michael has also been directing
for the past two years. In 2008 he created a production called A BROADWAY CABARET which was performed at the Valatie
Community Theatre. Since then he has directed the cabaret again this past summer, Twas the Night Before Christmas,
and portions of High School Non-Musical. This summer the Broadway Cabaret will be back at the Valatie Community Theatre
for the summer season! He is a senior this year at Ichabod Crane High School and is planning on majoring in the Theatre Arts
next year. Michael would like to send his love and thanks to his family, and sister Sammie!
Stage Manager/Costumer/Ticket Manager: Karleen Hayden
Karleen has been involved in local theater for the past 13 years. She co-directed Peter Pan,
Annie, Jr., Guys and Dolls, Jr., Music Man, Jr., Wizard of Oz and Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. at Holy Spirit
School, and this year directed their performance of Aladdin, Jr. She has appeared on stage in The Queen of Bingo,
High School Musical, Cinderella, Pirates of Penzance, and High School Non-Musical. Karleen is pleased to have
been part of CAPS since its inception.
Music Director: Dr. Joseph Eppink
Dr. Joseph Eppink is Coordinator of Music Education and Associate Professor of Music Education & Organ at The
College of Saint Rose in Albany New York. He also conducts The College of Saint Rose Women’s Chorale. Dr. Eppink also
serves as Organist/Choirmaster at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Albany. He has earned degrees from Western Michigan
University, Indiana University and his doctorate at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Dr. Eppink was an Elementary
Music Specialist, teaching grades K-6 for the Elkhart Community Schools in Elkhart, Indiana for 10 years. During that time
he also served as the Organist/Choirmaster at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist in Elkhart and the Conductor/Founder
of the Elkhart Boys Choir. The Elkhart Boys Choir gave several performance tours and even performed for the Indiana State
Music Educators Association under his direction. Dr. Eppink has given numerous national and international organ recitals in
addition to music education and church music workshops. His area of research is in alternative assessment strategies in the
music classroom. He has been published in Teaching Music, The American Organist and General Music Today.
He enjoys traveling around the world, exploring new adventures, and bringing groups of students to experience new cultures
through the wonderful world of music!
Parent Production Assistant: Jennifer Pyle
Jennifer has been with CAPS since Annie in July of 2008 and does a fantastic job of assisting at rehearsals and watching
over our cast while at rehearsals and working backstage during the shows!
Music Director: Paul Joseph Rovelli
Paul Joseph Rovelli teaches piano in the Capital District with extensive experience in
full classical chorus, madrigal ensembles, boys glee clubs and barbershop chorus (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. - Society for the Preservation
and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America). As well, he composes music and has performed in both rock
bands and as a jazz pianist. Paul has worked on CAPS High School Musical, ToyLand, and Seussical.
He will taking on Annie this coming summer as well!
Sound
Designer: Barry Streifert
Barry is happy to work
with Capital Area Productions. His first CAPS show was sound design for Annie Jr in 2008. Barry recently completed runs of
Into the Woods as Cinderella's Father and How To Succeed in Business as Mr. Ovington at Home Made Theater
and was also Sound Designer on both shows. He was also seen as Harry Danvers in Confetti Stage's Live and Unrehearsed,
part of the 4th Annual Short Play Festival. Other productions he's worked are HMT's Sideman (lighting),
The Snow Queen, The Real Inspector Hound, The Fifteen Minute Hamlet (sound), and the Youth Conservatory's production
of Fiddler on the Roof, Jr (props). Past highlights include Co-Set Designer for the Hackensack (NJ) Theater
Company's production of The Rocky Horror Show, and pit orchestra drummer for Debuts Theater Company's recent productions
of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Zombie Prom.
Stage Manager/Costumer: Teresa Eick
Teresa is happy to have been on the ground floor for the start of Capital Area
Productions. Teresa has been active in community theatre in the area for the past 7 years working in many capacities in many
theatre groups. She has been in: State Streets Production of Godspell and Spotlight's Oliver and Annie get
Your Gun. Teresa has been active in Highlight Acting Troupe on and off the stage from Backstage manager to Assistant Director
for many years. She was also costumer and stage manager for Toyland, a Holiday Musical Sensation, Dear Edwina!, ToyCamp, Disney's
High School Musical, School House Rock Live and Seussical.
Sound Manager: Norm Eick
Norm is very happy to be working with CAPS. He is no stranger to theatre, being a Producer/Director and Video Production
Manager by trade. He has performed in many productions through the years including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,
Man of LaMancha, Pippin, Our Town A Man for All Seasons, and Confetti Stage's The Giver. He has
staged-managed productions of Equus and South Pacific and provided sound design for Godspell, Wizard
of Oz, Annie, and CAPS last 4 prouctions including Disney's High School Musical.
Music Director: Margaret Giglio
Maggie is a graduate of the Crane School of Music with a concentration on the bassoon.
She is presently employed by the Enlarged City School District where she teaches elementary band. Before teaching band Miss
Giglio was a general music and choral teacher. Maggie loves teaching both band and chorus and has the opportunity to do so
while participating in this School House Rock Live production.
Lighting Designer: Kevin Ritz
Kevin is a fourth year History major at the University of Maine in Orono. Kevin has been doing lighting
design for eleven years now, working school, professional and community groups. This is his second CAPS production. Some of
his favorite shows have been Peter Pan, South Pacific, and Annie Get Your Gun. In his very limited spare time Kevin enjoys
the college scene and not writing history papers. Kevin is also an avid supporter of both the men's and women's ice hockey
teams at school, and when not found in class most likely he is at the ice rink. Kevin would like to congratulate the entire
cast and crew on a great show and would also like to thank everyone in the production for a very positive experience this
summer.
Music Director: Colleen
Kellner
Colleen Kellner is presently completeing her Master's
Degree in Specialized K-12 teaching. In addition to teaching for the Schenectady City School District, she also runs
two private studios. Her specialty is in Strings and Orchestra. She is also a member of the Music Educators
National Conference.
Vocal Director: Tara Pascucci
Tara is a music educator employed by the Troy School District. She has coordinated a variety of seasonal
vocal performances during the past 10 years. Tara is a graduate of The College of Saint Rose. She has also worked as an intern
for the New York State Theater Institute. Tara was music director for CAPS Toyland, a Holiday Musical Sensation and Dear Edwina!
We have many other volunteers and staff to thank for their help also!
